Topic: “How to Ask For a Raise, a Promotion, a Transfer, a Job”

Description
You have probably wished for the ability to ask for a promotion, a raise, a transfer, or perhaps the chance to interview for a newly open position and do it in a way that ensured your success.

Whether you are interviewing to join a company, asking for a raise, vying for a promotion, or asking for a transfer to another department, the process by which you approach and ask for these new opportunities can often determine success or failure.

Is there a best way to ask for that new position? Is there a way that ensures you will get that raise when you ask for it? Is there a way to successfully ask for a newly available position that you and several others in the organization are competing for?

The answer is a resounding yes. And in this month’s ACEmentoring tele-seminar I will explain to you how to do it. I will give you the secrets that will ensure that whether you are:

• Interviewing for a new job
• Asking for a raise
• Asking for a promotion
• Competing for an newly open position
• Asking for a departmental transfer

… you will have the odds in your favor.

ACEmentoring #13
Topic: “How to Make the Mental Shift for Long-Term Career Success”

Description
Is it mental?

Yes!

Everyone talks about what to do to be successful in your technical career. Even I talk about what “to do”. But there is plenty of information regarding what to do to be successful in your technical career. And yet, not everyone, or maybe even not many, do what is necessary to be successful.

So what is the issue? Knowledge, for a lot of people, is not the issue. Wo what is it?

It is the mental map that people hold that either propels them toward the success they desire or the mental map that keeps them stuck in the process that guarantees that they will not achieve their goals.

As simple as that sounds, that your mental maps hold the key to your success or your frustration, that is it. Change your mental maps and you change the trajectory of your career. Change your mental maps and life can become easier.

In this tele-seminar you will learn how to change your mental maps so the “doing” that you know you ought to do will be a no-brainer. This tele-seminar will show you how to understand your current mental maps, what mental maps you need, and how to change your current mental maps to achieve the success and goals you want.

ACEmentoring #12
Topic: “How to Stop Procrastinating At Work” (and in your personal life as well)

Description
Do you procrastinate?

Yes, you probably do.

Everyone does to some extent I think. We all have those certain things that we do not like to do and so we put them off.

When it comes to work…

1. Do you avoid talking to a specific person?
2. Do you avoid doing a certain task?
3. Do you avoid doing the non-technical work?
4. Do you avoid filling out your weekly reports?

What do you delay doing because you really do not want to do it, even though you know that you need to, and should do, and ultimately will have to, grudgingly?

Well, this is what we call procrastination and if we could avoid it our lives would go much more smoothly.

Would you like to avoid procrastination? Would you like to proactively take on those tasks that you really do not want to do but know you will have to, and you might as well feel OK about them and just get it done?

Well, that is what this ACE mentoring tele-seminar is all about. I am going to show you how to avoid procrastination completely for those tasks that you choose to.

Now you must understand that this will not be your typical “How to avoid procrastination” information. There are plenty of ways people have attempted to avoid procrastination, most to little effect.

What I share with you is information that you probably have not heard about before. But I know it works because I have used it myself many times with great results.

So if you want to learn a very powerful technique for removing procrastination, then check out this tele-seminar.

It does not just happen when you are a manager or supervisor or leader. Certainly if you have responsibility of the work of others your conversations are not always going to be positive. However, there may well be times that you want to tell a colleague to do something differently. There are plenty of conversations in everyday work that are awkward, difficult, and sensitive. These are conversations that we often avoid but we do so at our own peril.

Having these difficult conversations is very important and in this tele-seminar, Steven will show you how to have these sensitive, often awkward conversations in a way that makes them a positive process. In fact, the information you will receive from this tele-seminar will allow you to have difficult conversations in a way that actually will make them a positive process.

Have you ever been in a meeting with a customer or a colleague, someone you don’t know all that well, and they have an expression on their face that you interpret as “They are angry”?
